The first meeting for the Arab Asian Beverage Meeting committee (AABA) was held on May 27, 2009 at Index Holding Headquarters in Dubai to highlight the Conference program and major headlines of the drink and beverage industry, which will be represented during the forum by prestigious speakers whom will be present in Dubai for this purpose.

During the meeting, the Organization Committee members had signified major speakers whom will host the conference and the

forum sessions. In addition, they outlined major topics that will be discussed during the Forum in order to develop the industrial sector in GCC and Arab countries.

AABA, is scheduled to be held in conjunction with Dubai Drink Technology Expo during the period from 6 to 8 December 2009 with the support of the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and in collaboration with Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) and the Department of Naturalizations and Residency in Dubai as a strategic partner of the event.

The AABA will discuss technical and business sides of the beverage industry in the UAE in specific and the GCC countries, Middle East and the world in general.
 
The event will focus on promoting the latest drink processing and packaging systems, light machinery, equipments used in the process of manufacturing, treatment, filling, supply, packaging, transport, preservation and distribution of beverages. The Arab Asian Beverage Meeting is the first forum specialized in Beverage and technology to be organized in the Middle East at a time where the beverage industry is prospering in some Arab countries including UAE, Saudi, and Egypt.

 Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, Secretary General of the AABA, said:
 
'We have highlighted some of the speakers' names today; the Forum will be hosted by Arab and International Experts whom are leaders in the Beverage Industry and have excellent business experience. Our main focus is to develop this sector and introduce modern technology that takes environment into consideration while developing the business and machinery in the food and
beverage industry.'
 
'The Arab Asian Beverage Meeting program will converses the UAE vision of beverage industry, beverage trade value in the UAE, the future of the Middle East beverage industry, brighter ideas for starting a business in the UAE, access to UAE beverage importing and exporting regulations, positioning and differentiating your business in the Gulf region, finding new opportunities in the challenging economic climate, strategies to maintain your business growth, the latest developments and solutions in packaging, branding the product to the right market, recycling products and reducing production cost in addition to many other critical issues,' Al Banna added.

He also clarified that, 'Participants will benefit from attending such a unique forum as they will meet with world's experts in the beverage industry including technology, packaging, Branding, and Labeling, in addition, to adopting recent environmental techniques used in the beverage sector.'

Al Banna mentioned that the committee had worked on developing a marketing plan for the event that will enhance the regional participation through marketing the Meeting and The Exhibition in all Arab and Asian countries, concentrating on industrial countries such as Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt, and the far east including India, Malaysia, Japan and Korea, in addition to the United States, Germany, and Italy whom are leaders in this field.


 Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of DDTE and President of Index Holding, said:

all its sectors.'
 
Al Madani also mentioned that the meeting aims to introduce new technical trends to Arab countries through research and development that enrich the industry sector and the environment which will reflect positively on their Economy.

He also mentioned that the meeting and the exhibition are a unique opportunity for businessmen and investors in the UAE, the Middle East and Asia to meet their peers from beverage technology representatives, and service suppliers from the US, Europe and Asia to explore the latest technologies they use.

'Beverage technology is witnessing prosperous period in UAE especially the technology used in producing juices, dairy products, soft drinks, liquid food and mineral water,' he said.

Arab Asian Beverage Meeting aims to enhance the Business relations between manufacturers, producers, logistic services providers, governmental entities in charge of import and export, businessmen and investors in beverages sector within the Arab world and Asia.

Dubai Drink Technology Expo in its second edition brings an added value to exhibitions and conferences organization industry in the UAE and the region, especially after the great success achieved in 2008, where more than 3500 trade visitors were registered from 64 countries.
